Financial Planning Analyst

We are actively recruiting a Financial Planning Analyst on behalf of a fast growing commercial business. I am specifically seeking candidates with proven financial planning experience, strong analytical and systems skills, along with strong data manipulation skills. Resilience and drive and the ability to work independently is essential to this role. This is a superb role for candidates fitting this criteria.

About the company:

Greener For Life (GFL) is a specialist company devoted to sustainable production which was created by farmers for farmers. But their vision is bigger than that. Their education and renewable energy projects will help the UK to achieve energy and fuel security at no extra cost to the consumer. Their highly experienced management team is made up of poultry, dairy and beef farmers together with technology experts and they have up-to 35 years of experience in Anaerobic Digestion (AD) technology. The GFL management team advises farmers on:

-Site specific 'best mix' renewables design and build 

-Training/Optimum operation

-Feedstock Planning

-Biomethane and power to grid projects.

Farmers are the caretakers of their environment. Embracing AD and renewable energy sources to increase sustainability while boosting financial security for farmers. They also encourage farmers to join a 'cluster' or formal co-operative for maximum efficiency and profitability because they are stronger together.

Main purpose of Job:

Reporting to the SPV Finance Director, the FP&A analyst will support the business in making the best decisions financially to achieve the required commercial and operational results. They will support the Senior Management Team in their drive to increase revenues and lower costs by providing profit & loss and cashflow forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting.  Identifying insightful analysis, benchmarking of the individual SPV’s and identifying performance improvements where possible 

Key Accountabilities:

·Preparation, production and delivery of weekly and monthly KPI’s, trends and drivers for each SPV’s in coordination with Downing LLP requirements

·Provide robust and accurate financial plans, P&L and cashflow forecasts and analysis with supporting insightful commentary

·Co-ordination and analysis of the planning cycle (budgets, quarterly P&L forecasts and monthly cashflows)

·Co-ordinate, deliver and continuously improve in con-junction with Downing LLP, the monthly divisional board pack with key financial analytics and insightful adhoc analysis

·Preparing and providing analytical support for the Board meetings, Senior manager meetings and business reviews

·Capital spend analysis, allocation and reporting

·Investment appraisal for key projects

·3 year strategic plans preparation and analysis

·Build strong relationships with business key stakeholders

·Tracking of business transformation initiatives

·Project management support and coordination and other adhoc initiatives 

·Continually developing systems and processes within the company.


·Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

·Proven FP&A experience 

·Strong analytical and systems skills

·Experience in renewables and/or farming (desirable but not essential)

·Ability to ensure accuracy is observed and met at all levels

·Ability to explain complex financial information in a clear format

·Professionalism and commitment at all times to the Company and its business requirements.

·Strong interpersonal and team working skills with an ability to work co-operatively and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including non-finance team members and other stakeholders.

·Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. 

·Experience with working with external funders and how to communicate at that level.

·Strong data skills and advanced knowledge of Excel and other MS Office packages.

·Strong data manipulation skills. Ability to display a professional approach to the role at all times with flexibility

Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, SPV Finance Director and the Accounts Team, Head of Operations, Plant Operatives, Plant Managers, Feedstock Manager, the Maintenance Team, External Funders, Suppliers and Contractors and any other Stakeholders
