Salary: £20-£24k pro rata

This is a part time permanent position ( 20 hours at 4 hours per day ) there is flexibility with when the hours are worked as long as it is in line with their opening hours (8.30am-5.30pm) benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5% bonus, auto enrolment pension, and free parking. The Candidate

I am seeking an experienced finance assistant that will fit into this culture. Strong Sage experience is vital, they invoice for stock via Sage so this requires good attention to detail when reconciling the stock at month end, they operate in dual currency so you need to be very much on the ball, with high skill levels working with Microsoft Excel. Candidates without Sage experience will unfortunately not be considered for this role. This is an important vital role within the organisation that offers a lot of responsibility but you need to be flexible, from not being afraid to pick up the phone and multi task, to ordering stationary.  Everyone works hard and are willing to adapt and cover/help out when there is a sudden peak in someone else’s workload. Personality fit is key, being a small team where everyone needs to get on, they are a friendly and relaxed company with no dominant personalities I am specifically looking for someone who will fit into the team extremely well. This is an energetic team, therefore I am seeking candidates who work collaboratively and who will bring energy to the team with an organised approach, a confident manner demonstrating discretion and initiative  in this empowered clan culture  You must have a flexible approach and an enjoyment of team work with enthusiasm and willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the role and be able to develop a close working relationship with colleagues to ensure urgent matters are dealt with promptly. you will have an organised and confident manner demonstrating discretion and initiative.

Ideally you will be AAT qualified or working towards, however this is not absolutely necessary as long as you have the practical experience and an eye for detail. The position reports directly into the Finance Manager.

Job Description

Responsibilities

$11.    Sales: All Sales Ledger control including:

$1-       Processing of EDI Customer Stock Sales Invoices from Sales Orders

$1-       Processing of all Industrial (Non EDI) Stock Sales Orders and Invoices

$1-       Allocating Customer Payments against invoices

$1-       Identifying Customer Debit Notes in order to contrast against any purchase invoices via the Bank Reconciliation.

$1-       Issuing and notifying customers of Debit Notes relating to Customer complaints

$1-       Running the P&L and Balance Sheet in preparation for Monthly Management Meeting (this is mainly checking figures)

$1-       Completing month end stock valuation spreadsheet and investigating stock discrepancies

$1-       Monthly credit control processing (not a big part of the role up-to one day per month

$12.    Purchasing: All Purchase Ledger control including:

$1-       Processing all general Purchase Invoices

$1-       Processing all PO’s for stock purchases & inputting the purchase invoices

$1-       Processing Transport Invoices

$1-       Journaling Purchase invoices into the relevant months

$1-       Weekly Supplier payments via the GBP & EUR accounts

$1-       Dealing with any Supplier payment queries

$1-       Reconciling Supplier statements against Sage and following up on any missing invoices

$13.    Other: Other duties include:

$1-       Processing wage journals

$1-       Monthly Bank Reconciliation including, GBP A/C, EUR A/C, Reserve A/C, credit cards & expenses

$1-       Post journals relevant month end journals

$1-       Intrastat and E C Sales reports
