Business Development Manager

Our client is a dynamic, growing company who have provided award-winning, 5-star customer service within the financial sector for over a century. This is an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work within the Telesales Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the image of the organisation and achieving set sales targets. It is vital that the team member takes a proactive approach to seeking new opportunities and following up on all leads in a timely manner.

The Role:

  • Enable the company to penetrate a greater market share by developing productive relationships with clients in line with the company’s sales plan and the sales and marketing strategy
  • To manage and maintain CRM to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity and to generate new business
  • To manage risk within the company by educating prospective clients about the company and its products by providing support and guidance over the telephone
  • To promote the company brand by working closely with clients to understand how the two can work together to achieve results in line with the relevant financial regulators principles and rules

Key responsibilities:

  • To act as primary contact with prospective clients and be responsible for promoting the company’s image while achieving sales targets, in order to grow the existing book of clients
  • To proactively follow up leads generated from events and seminars
  • To identify and develop new sources of business
  • To develop, maintain and grow existing business in conjunction with the sales plan
  • To work closely with the Key Account Managers, the Marketing Team and other members of the Telesales Team to deliver company targets and strategy

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Demonstration of a detailed knowledge of the financial services industry
  • CF1 qualification is desirable
  • Experience of working within the IFA sector and Regulated Intermediary sector

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Confident and ambitious with an excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent at building and maintaining relationships
  • A team player and able to get on with others in a professional setting
  • Keen to participate in personal development training
  • IT literate (proficient in MS Word, Excel, previous use of database systems is desirable)

The hours & rewards:

  • A full-time permanent contract with a competitive starting salary
  • Sales Bonus Scheme
  • Monday to Friday, 35 hour working week (7-hour day with 1 hour lunch)
  • Office opening hours are between 8:00am-6:00pm,
  • 24 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays per annum
